I'm using .htpasswd and .htaccess to password-protect a folder on my website and it works fine. Right now the window that pops up when trying to access the folder requests a username and password (as it would normally do).
I want to know if there's a way to automatically populate the username field with a user's name so the user will only have to enter a password? Thanks in advance.. |

Hi, and welcome to DS.
I would hazard a guess at no - how does the browser know what the user id is?

What happens if you redirect to a URL that looks like:
Code:
http://username:@domain.com/authenticated-directory/
