CGI-based login
Please can somebody tell me a way of allowing HTML form-based cgi-login, that uses .htaccess priviledges. I'm getting desperate!!
Is there really no way of loosing the nasty grey boxes, whilst maintaining .htaccess control ? Thanks very much for any advice, Ben. Last edited by blackfrancis : February 26th, 2002 at 09:22 AM. |

Just don't use .htaccess as there are many way to authenticate users.
BTW, cross posting is highly discouraged so please don't do it again. Perhaps you should delete your 2 other duplicate posts. 1) http://forums.devshed.com/showthrea...1378&forumid=17 2) http://forums.devshed.com/showthrea...31380&forumid=6 |

Does that mean there is no way of doing this? I have seen commercial solutions available at a cost that purport to do this.
Sorry for cross-posting, but I'm not sure which forum is most appropriate. Thanks. |

Look, presumably there are people that have skills in certain areas, and they will respond to forums devoted to those areas in particular. This problem overlaps several areas of expertise, and therefore I have addressed it to several groups of people.
I'm sorry if this offends you, but I think it makes perfect sense and if you dont like it you can stick it where the SUN don't shine, you cheaky f*k. |

Because of your idiotic reply to what is a perfectly valid request, I've pulled my answer from the perl forum.
Good luck! |
