Unhappy

hi,
i have a realy bad question!! maybe its easy but i just couldnt figure it out.
I have multiple computers at home, and instead of using the linux box as gateway, i ahve a router. This is where i forward my ports and such to diff computers [mainly to my linux server]

gettin to my question:
My linux server(192.168.1.100) doesnt have too much space. As a result i would like to host the files and other things on my windows machine(192.168.1.101). I tried working w/ php hoping that it would recognize that wen i said 192.168.1.101 it would know that ist a comp inside the network. but it doesnt. As a result i cant link to any files, wether grafics or other sorts of files. It does work if i go on any of the computers inside the network cuz they know the other computers. But from outside wen i tried, or wen i asked others to try, it didnt work. Is there any solution to this. How would i do this 2 computer thing!
please help
desperate

thank you

Why don't you use samba so you can share your Windows folders to your linux box internally?

You can also run Apache on Windows so what's your problem?

As I said, SAMBA.

>> how would i link the images from the webpage to samba

It's all up to the whatever mount point that you decide to use, then set an Alias from the mount point to your webspace.

This is Apache forum, go to http://www.linuxnewbie.org to ask Samba questions.
