I've installed Red Hat 6.0 and opted to install Apache (1.3.6) with it. It should work but it doesn't. The default path after installation for the general html files for apache was /home/httpd/html which I know is wrong, so I move the files to /usr/local/httpd/htdocs and specified this as the default directory for my files. Also my system doesn't recognize the command "httpd." Any suggestions.

You never mentioned what didn't work. >> Also my system doesn't recognize the command "httpd." Find out where that is, it's was because you installed it to non-standard path. Try this command: find / -type f -name httpd -print to locate httpd binary. |

Thanks
Thanks for your reply, I ended up re-installing Red Hat Linux and opting not to install the web server (mainly b/c it actually installed the httpd folder in the directory /home). Then I just downloaded the latest version of apache from the site and installed it. It works great now.
Thanks, Derrick Rapley |
