Could Not Open Db Auth File

I managed to compile with support for db auth password files but my error log reads "(2) No such file or directory: could not open db auth file," which is odd since the file (a Berkeley db2 hash file) does exist and has the correct file permissions, etc.

Any input appreciated...

How did you create that .db file? How did you open it?

It seems that www.apacheweek.com/features/dbmauth is only partly right...and dbmmanage only sometimes works.

For me at least, I needed a .db file, which dbmmanage would not create.

So I wrote my own perl program using dbmopen() and now everything works fine.
