    Error installing Apache 2.2

When installing the newest apache on windowsX32, I get the following screen in DOS. Anyone know what to do? During the installation I put the network domain and server name both to "localhost" because I just want to run the server locally to test scripts.

Well the second part of the error, I think, means that you have something running over port 80 already.

Run netstat -a from the command line and see what is running on that port.
Maybe referred to as SERVERNAME:http in the output.

    Cheers,
    Jamie

    # Jeremy

Explain your problem instead of asking how to do what you decided was the solution.

tried that... port 80 doesn't even come up on the list of ports?

So what happens if you go to http://localhost/ in a browser before trying to start Apache?

Are you starting Apache as a user with administrator privileges?
