Everything working except SSL

I have found the article at http://www.devshed.com/Server_Side/...ess/page11.html to be very helpful to get Apache, PHP4, and MySQL working. However, SSL does not work. I followed the examples and received no errors in compiling or building. However, when I try to run:

./apachectl startssl

I get "./apachectl startssl: httpd could not be started" shot back at me. Apache is working fine without SSL. I tried recompiling and installing everything, but I still get the same problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
