Executing unix commands through cgi...
My webmaster has recently stopped letting me use telnet, which is a bit of a bummer, since i really need it to set things up on the server using unix commands.
I already know of nobody.cgi, but is there a way i can use this somehow to allow me to act as my normal user (when i log in with an ftp client)? Or any other way of getting around the problem of no telnet access would be nice. Thanks in advance! |

Say Apache is run as nobody or a particular user (no cgiwrap or SuEXEC enabled), you can still execute certain commands limited to nobody.

If you can get around this easily, then your server doesn't have any clue about security and how UNIX works and you should host elsewhere immediately without a doubt. |
