For Apache Newbees
For all you Apache Newbees:
If you are wanting Apache with PHP4, ASP, and SSL (mod SSL and OpenSSL) built in, try this web server: http://www.opensa.org/ They build all this in and then you run an installation file to install it. I have only used this under a Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro so I am not sure if they have a file for *BSD, Linus, or UNIX but I know a lot of new comers use Windows. The Apache is not the newest version but they are working on it. This is just to help you out. Last edited by mizzory : December 12th, 2001 at 09:54 AM. |

It just happens that I tried this one for a couple of hours yesterday on a win98 machine that apache was working on, but could never get it to start. I even tried copying my apache htttp.cfg file into there's but with no luck. But since I'm very new to this- it even took me a long time to get my apache one working maybe I'll try again later when they get some more setup documentation out.
