Greetings all. I have been going through lots of Apache docs and think I won't have too much problem setting up another virtual domain for my company but something still puzzles me. How do I get that name out to the world so others can hit it?

The domain name is registered, I can set it up to point to a directory in the document root, change the httpd.conf file but I am just clueless about this last step.

Running redhat linux 4.2 I think, something like that.
Note: I am NOT a linux admin, a developer that somehow has ended up creeping back into that arena! *argh, grrr, whine!*

Thanks,
Steve

>> The domain name is registered

First off, it's registered doesn't tell anything.

>> How do I get that name out to the world so others can hit it?

You need to ensure forward nslookup of your vhost domain returns the same IP as your default domain, then you may continue to configure Apache.

You can't ask a question blindly and expect an answer. At the very least, please show us the relevant part of your httpd.conf.

It definitely has nothing to do with the technical aspect of setting up Apache for this virtual domain, that is correct.

Ahhh, excellent. That is the clue I was looking for. Thank you.

Not asking for help with httpd.conf, bud, but thanks!
