how to delete .htacces

how to delete .htacces?

I do not got telnet and my ftp client (ws_ftp pro) doesn't show the file.

I tried to delete the whole folder (using ftp) but that isn't possible because the folder is not empty.

Can anybody help me?

(Probably the clue is very easy as with most problems, but I just don't see a good solution)

WS_FTP should show you the .htaccess file.
You might have "Remote File Mask" turned on.

1) Click the Connect Button.

2) When you the the "Session Properties" box, select the "Startup" tab.

3) Delete anything that might be in the "Remote File Mask" field.

That should do it. Keep us posted as to whether it worked or not.

The remote file mask field is empty, and i still can't see (or delete) the .htacces file using ws_ftp.

However, i tried SmartFTP and it works! I deleted the bloody .htacces file that caused all the trouble.

I do not understand why it didn't work in ws_ftp but my hosting company told me that it's not possible to view a .htacces file in ws_ftp, probably they are right.

On the right side there is a blank white box under the make directory button in it: type

-al

and press enter and refresh the directory. That will show you everything, hidden files and all.

Ajax:

I was using smartFTP (which is somewhat inferior to ws_ftp) because of this problem. Now I can go back to Ws_ftp.
