.htaccess example
Hi, Im quite confused about this some concepts of .htaccess.

I was wondering if anyone had a site that had a password protected dir in it if they could paste in here to show me what their .htaccess system looked like?

Do a search in Apache forum here and use the keyword AuthName.

from my understanding, the idea behind the htaccess file is to provide directives on a directory basis. The directives you specify in the htaccess file take precedence over the ones set in the httpd.conf file.
