How does it work with html files in apache.
In moment my websites are located by my isp.
any clues to start with

hi
I build my websites in dreamweaver and put them with a ftp-client to my isp homepage server.
How does it work with apache,where i put the files,images,everthing.

Your ISP should have assigned you a docroot where you upload all your stuffs to. This may vary depending on the configuration of your ISP.

I still haven't had a clue what your Apache question was.

How can I host my own websites with apache-http webserver.

Who is your isp?
Do they run Apache server?
Do you plan to run your own Apache server?(off your own box?
If so
Have you installed Apache server?
What OS you run?(windows)

yes i running apache already,i got win 2000
what i want ,i want to run my own websites on my own box
but i dont now, how it works to place the files and images

or make a new folder with all the files and pointed to apache

put your files in the folder called htdocs

start apache

in your browser dial in either 127.0..0.1 or localhost











even without putting your files there you can confirm that it works

by going to addresses it should say it worked!
