Thanks for coming, I have installed apache and whenever I try to run it, it says:
"Apache.exe: cannot detirmine local host name. Use the servername directive to set it manually." I am learning CGI and I am trying to get a server up on my computer so that I can learn how to do it and practice. If anyone can tell me how to get it set p or point me to some place that tells me how to do it (not the troublshooting guide that comes with apache, it would be very appreciated. Thanks |

Go through your http.conf to find the place to correct with "localhost" (servername) and 127.0.01 (ip-address (Isn't that default, by the way?))
Have you tried type http://127.0.01 in the adressbar? Steffen |

Create C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS and put the appropriate lines in it. You can check out the sample HOSTS file at C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS.SAM.
