Unhappy

Thanks for coming, I have installed apache and whenever I try to run it, it says:

"Apache.exe: cannot detirmine local host name.
Use the servername directive to set it manually."

I am learning CGI and I am trying to get a server up on my computer so that I can learn how to do it and practice. If anyone can tell me how to get it set p or point me to some place that tells me how to do it (not the troublshooting guide that comes with apache, it would be very appreciated. Thanks

Go through your http.conf to find the place to correct with "localhost" (servername) and 127.0.01 (ip-address (Isn't that default, by the way?))
Have you tried type http://127.0.01 in the adressbar?
Steffen

Create C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS and put the appropriate lines in it. You can check out the sample HOSTS file at C:\WINDOWS\HOSTS.SAM.
