    I want to know about your system. Do you use Redhat (if it is rpm based you get the nice sweet answer. If you dl'd the source and compiled it then installed it I don't have a great one for you).

    if it is RPM based then you can:
    (get thee to a command line)
    type "rpm -q omni*"
    basically to find the package from whence it came. Then uninstall it. I think this is how it goes.
    type "rpm -e packagename"
    make sure to restart your machine (or shut down the process anyway)
    then install Apache

    If you compiled it from the source code. All you have to do is find the process that is accepting the http requests and kill it (every time you reboot the computer) (or go into the run level editor like SYSINITV and turn it off completely).
    then install Apache

    thanks for your response... actually i'm using Win98... I keep hearing people mention Redhat but i guess that must be a Linux-or-something-else thing?

    so the question is, what can i do in Win98?

    SOrry... Yes RedHat is a linux thing.
    Instructions for Win98
    Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs
    look for omni something in the list click it and there should be a remove button.
    Then install apache.
    Sorry about the mix up.
