Can anyone give me some advice as to a good place to start if I want to learn mod_rewrite? (Other than the apache docs)

Thanks

No question, mod_rewrite docs from apache site has far too few examples and unclear to many people.

I don't think there is any URL where you can learn mod_rewrite in more details. So I have to say that either you get it or just give it up. However, a good place to start is to:

1) learn all other apache directives at the very least
2) learn "Regular Expression" from scripting language like Perl
3) Know all CGI environment variables

Once you met all these requirements, mod_rewrite is not difficult at all.

Thanks.

Yeah I have a very good knowledge of regex in perl and other unix utilities, and I've done enough cgi to get a grip on the env variables.

I just didn't want to have to read through the docs if there was a better alternative.

Thanks again.
