load balancing/handling many users???
I am running apache 1.3.12 on a redhat 6.2 box with mysql and php with a 56k frame and i have a customer who insists that his site is going to have 1000 users logged in at the same time when he gets his program running (i'm hosting his domain with a mysql database that allows new users to register and create/update their own info)
my question/search for information is...
with 6 ip addresses (for now) i can build 5 more boxes and configure each but how can i accomplish load sharing??? surely you don't have to duplicate the databases on each server, i've been trying to find some information on this and while i've found some, it's not very helpful in my situation!!!
can anyone point me to any good sites with information on this type of problem???
thanks in advance!!!
terry
