Looking for a good beginner's book
I'm in search for a good book about Apache. I know there are plenty available, but I thought that I'd ask for recomendation. The book should cover things from a beginner's perspective, since most of Apache is pure hebre to me. If it cover something about both Windows and Linux platforms I'd be very happy, but that's not a requirement.

re:good books on apache for beginners
I currently have three books on apache:
1. "administering apache" by mark arnold et al, published in 2000. It dealed with apache 1.3.6. Most of the book are on apche with unix/linux. Although the title does not seem for beginners but it really for anybody who wants to setup and use it. 2. Apache Server 2.0, a beginner's guide by Kate Wrightson, published in September 2001. New book, not really apache 2.0 and the part on ssl is very cursory. Don't expect too much details from this book. 3. Red Hat Linux 7 server by Mohammed Kabir, published 2001. This is the book for people who wish to use Redhat 7.x as the OS. Not very much details on server though but it help you to the right direction. My best source to learn apache is still online documents. Although the docs on window apache is pretty scarce. |
