Mod rewrite confusion

mod_rewrite - Mod rewrite confusion

Hi all,

I am new to mod_rewrite and have read a lot of the guides and I am still unaware of how to do the following (or if it is possible):

If I have the url blog.php?id=1

and I wanted that to translate to /blog/bbc-news, how would I do it?

(it does not matter if I have to hardcode the id matching).
