Angry php+oracle and apache problem with restarting server

I having trouble starting the server after i stop it for any reason after i install php with oracle support....
I have to rename the httpd.conf file differently...rename the httpd.conf.bak file to httpd.conf restart the server to get it to work and rename the original httpd.conf file back....and gracefully restart apache for the server to work....and i dont see anything unusual in the error_log file....is there something i should check to keep the server running for example after i reboot my box ...stop/start server NOT just restart....etc....

Always, at all time, use apachectl graceful. start or stop should only be called from your startup script.

Always show us your whatever errors when running apachectl graceful and tail your error log here (which might be nothing unusual to you).

>> rename the httpd.conf.bak file to httpd.conf

Because the original one without oracle support was being loaded.
