I am trying to store files on a secondary hard drive, d:
My installation is on croject
locally it works fine. I click on a link for a song..bahda bing, here comes the file.
I sit at my other pc with it's own ip connection to the internet so i can view the non local website and i get errors

I guess my question is does apache have the ability to serve files outside of it's root directory in fact from a different hard drive alltogether without using sql or some script language....? URL

okay so i figured it out at http://www.arsetechnica.com and their open forum.
i will post my results so some other sap like me does not have to go through this crap even though it was easy.(if you pay attention to what you read)


ScriptAlias: This controls which directories contain server scripts.

alias is the directive i need ...
shouldn't it be alias not scriptalias and i could serve an index from d: as if it were the doc root?
