|
public html problems
I have public_html folder on my machine which i can view as the localhost. but if i try to view the user dir from another machine, it wont display it. it just gives an error and wont display it. what is could cause this? i have all the proper permissions set up for public_html, /home and /home/user

What error? Whenever you are debugging this kind of problem, stop using IE as it defaults to display user-friendly error message. >> i have all the proper permissions set up How proper? Show us the permission. Keep in mind that setting up permission properly is a must, but that still doesn't make Apache to work properly if you misconfigured your httpd.conf. >> what is could cause this? Instead of posting your entire httpd.conf here, please provide the following: 1) <Directory /home/*/public_html> block 2) The DirectoryIndex line 3) UserDir line 4) DocumentRoot line
