re: sound

A stopgap for the visuals, but what about sound?

Here's the deal.
I translated a historical novel and recorded some wav files.
What would be the easiest mechanism to launch wav files within the context of the translated text?
Can I do it through Apache?
Can I do it depending on what kind of player a user has on his/her machine, and configure accordingly?

I've got alot of other questions, but my main one is: what questions should I be asking in case launching wav files is possible?
