Hi. I am a VB/VC developer totally new to this web server stuff. I installed & configured Apache/1.3.12 on my Windows98 machine and it works fine for html docs but I can't seem to be able to run any pgm on the server.
This minimal compiled C pgm should simply send stuff back to the client...
main() {
printf("Content-type: text/htmlnn");
printf("<html><head>My test page</title></head>n");
printf("<body>Hello World!</body></html>n");
}
...but I keep getting the same following error msgs:
error 500: Internal Server Error bla bla bla
error 403: You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/hello.exe on this server.
I read the FAQs, the forums, the articles, tried everything that could apply to my setup, but still...
Are these directives sufficient?
Alias /cgi-bin/ "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/cgi-bin/"
<DIRECTORY "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/cgi-bin">
Options ExecCGI
AddHandler cgi-script .pl .cgi .exe
</DIRECTORY>
Any input (but Perl) is welcome and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
