I'm fairly new to PHP/MySQL, and a recommendation from several people is to protect the PHP directory with an .htaccess file. In all honesty, I have no clue how to make an .htaccess file. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

If you have shell access, simply cd in your target dir and touch .htaccess. As for FTP access, you can't make, but upload, just upload an .htaccess file to your target dir. If you are having trouble creating hidden files in Windows, just rename the .htaccess.txt or something to .htaccess via FTP. It's just that simple. |
