SSL don't start with apache 1.3.20 on SuSE LINUX 7.3

Can everybody help me?

I installed apache 1.3.20 .
Also I insalled mod_ssl, python 2.7.5 PHP 4.0.6, mod_perl 1.26.

1) What is Linux 7.3?
2) If SSL is not starting, check the rcapache script.

Normally when mod_ssl is compiled to Apache, you no longer start it the traditional way (apachectl start). Instead, you'd run apachectl startssl.

Linux 7.3 means SuSE Linux 7.3...

Thanks for your reply - but it wasn't the reason!

apachectl startssl
answered: already running.

BUT I CAN'T SEE ON START apache USING "SSL"!

https-connections goes wrong!

What do you mean by that?

If you have apachectl script, read it, it's ASCII format and human-readable.

I've mean:
if I start the apache, I can't see "SSL"

SSL will not supported...

You need to create a cert (self-signed) before you can use SSL. You also need to tell Apache where to locate the cert.

Sorry, based on the insufficient info you provided (it doesn't work, it's not starting), there's no way we can figure out what the problem was. So I suggest you to start here -> http://www.modssl.org/

BTW, if you don't have any prior experience with standalone Apache, don't even try mod-ssl. Just learn thing one at a time.
