I have Apache 1.3.14 running on FreeBSD and I'm having a problem getting Apache to use the suexec program so that each virtual host can run as a different user for security purposes.

I'm not sure if it's cause I have the config wrong in httpd.conf, or if it's because I didn't compile apache right or something.

Can anyone help me with the steps i should be able to do to get it to work?

    What problem?

Yes, we all know that but it doesn't tell us your actual problem.

We can only tell you to RTFM at http://www.apache.org/docs/suexec.html#install since you never stated your problem nor given ANY INFO (i.e. configure options) at all. When you are ready to recompile Apache, place your apache_1.3.14.tar.gz in /usr/ports/distfiles/ and alter the Makefile at -> /usr/ports/www/apache13/Makefile. You should specify your own layout with --with-layout. Sample configurations could be found in config.layout file in the root of your apache source dir. If the PORTVERSION in the Makefile is 1.3.12, you should cvsup your ports in the first place.
