    I have compiled Apache 1.3.12 with suexec to allow different user/group execution under Virtual Hosts.

    However, I can't seem to get this to work!

    I have created a virtual host (simply using a different port number) and setup up an "admin" user and group. I have specified the User and Group in my virtual host but I cannot run CGI scripts from it. (Note - if I rem out the user and group thereby running the virtual host as nobody - then I can execute cgi's no problem?)

    Qu: Do I need a separate cgi-bin directory for the virtual host or should the existing one (/home/httpd/cgi-bin) be ok?

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Start here -> http://www.apache.org/docs/suexec.html and Read #13.

    suexec will only run cgi's that are in a directory owned by the user/group and the cgi must also be owned and allowed to execute the script.

    What does the error_log say?
