Which server side scripting language is fastest?

Which server side scripting runs the fastest on Apache?
- CGI
- ASP (thru chilisoft mod)
- PHP

Is there a big difference in speed? or is it a trivial difference?

It depends on what kind of task you are trying to do. If you can give us an example of a specific task, then maybe we could give you some ideas.

Basic to advanced - assume intensive script use. Everything from database interaction (Oracle, mySQL, etc.) to shopping cart, to dynamic pages. I know that CGI is probably the slowest of the bunch and will bog down the server. ASP and PHP have the added bonus of being written into the HTML. On a heavy load, script intensive site, which is the fastest?
