Currently, my server uses the default page of index.html - however, I would like it to change. Could somebody let me know how to do this - or preferably point me towards somewhere on the web with this information, plus other tips like this for Apache servers?

    Regards,
    Ben Phillips.

    As they say, RTFM.
Everything you want to know is in the docs that came with apache and at apache.org there is a line in the config file that sets the default file to look for.

Fix: in /etc/httpd/conf/srm.conf under the directive: DirectoryIndex
There is a list on "index" page names, add the name of the html file that you wish the domain to open with to that list. Save srm.conf and restart httpd.

Not necessary an html file. Further, it's been a while, I believe Ben already solved that problem.
