Does anybody have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I set up the security using a .htaccess file. The idea is that when a person logs in, an email is instantly triggered to inform a person that that the event happened.
The idea is for a web development company who wants to track when their customers are viewing work in progress.

Can you clarify what your topic means?

I think a temporary solution would be to send the output of:
tail -f /var/log/apache_access_log
to grep which picks out all the successfull
logins, stuffs the usernames in variables and mails everything using mail
