what's your database? what's type of connection? it'd be easier just to search "database connection asp" in google unless you give us SOME information about your environment, or search this forum... there's more than one way to do this so we need more info

Its an access 97 database thats on an IIS Server. I really dont know where to start! There is a table within the database called headlines and i want these and its corresponding news to be displayed and when a new one appears within the database this is shown. I also want the latest bbc technology news to be incorporated into it so these are displayed.
Is there a way of just using HTML so if i did not want to use a database i could use an rdf file of some kind?? As you can tell i am new to this espesially using web apps such as asp. Thanks Andy Any other things you need to know before you can help let me know. |

I'm not terribly familiar with access, but i know for a fact there are wizards to generate pages for you quick and dirty, if that's what you're looking for, if you're looking for something that's easibly maintanable then i don't think you can just use html, you'll need to use asp.
If you use XML you could display the database online, but you'd still need a scripting language to display it all, umm, if you were to set up your iis manager to interpret rdf files (is that text file?) and that will just spit back the text document in html if you want it that way is there a reason you want to avoid using asp? |

No someone mentioned it in passing that you could possibly do it without asp but i didnt see how.
But lets concentrate on creating this in asp. Quick sounds good. Got any ideas on where i should start on this? |
