Post client/server interface at single page using portnumber

Hi there !!
I keen to know one stuff which i seen recently. I don't have any idea how that things has been done and want someone put some light on it.

Recently.. I seen the stuff in one hosting website.. When one put the URL : http://www.servername.com:1234( Portnumber, i guess) lead me into the admin interface and the same URL(http://www.servername.com) without that particular port number lead me to the client interface.

Any sugestion is most welcome !!
