Date Issue with Jscript

I usually work in ASP VBScript but I have taken over a project that uses an MS Access database to store dates in a Date/Time field.
The date in the database is:
23/09/2011

However when rendered onto the page using ASP Jscript is appears as:
Fri Sep 23 00:00:00 UTC+0100 2011

Can anybody direct me as to how I can get it to appear on the page as it does in the database using Jscript?

Do you mean you're using jscript for the server-side asp code?

In vbscript on the server you'd probably use the formatdatetime() function to make the date display as you want. In jscript I don't know, sorry.
