Why did you start a *NEW* thread???

Anyway...

What do you mean by *besides* right-clicking ???
There is *NO* other way then to right click on a file a select Properties and check/uncheck the Read Only attribute.

But if you mean, why am I *still* getting the error message:
Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.
even though you did uncheck the read only attribute to your .mdf file?

If that is your question then I have to ask, what did google.com return to you when you pasted your error message in their textbox?

And did you look at some/all the articles and did you try some the answers they were giving?

Let me see, I try searching google.com with this:
"Cannot update. Database or object is read-only."
And let me see if I found anything + the solution...

I'll be right back!

Hope this helps!
Sincerely

Vlince

<edit>
For some reason devshed didn't post that link properly...
Anyway...go to google.com
Then in the textbox enter your error message and click the SEARCH button
</edit>

Ok so let's google again...
COpy/Paste your error message in the google textbox search engine and this is what you get:

http://www.google.com/search?source...ne+anot her%2E

Look at link #6

Read what the guy/girl did and look at the answers!
Or look at other results...

Hope this helps!
Sincerely

Vlince
