How to control the browser
I’m building a intranet site and want to:
1) associate an desktop icon to a browser instance, i e, that icon opens the browser for, and only for the intranet site. 2) Once in there, unable the navigation activities, i e, unable the capability to get out of that intranet with that browser instance. 3) When called from the usual way guarantee the browser normal functionality. Thanks any one

As long as there is a URL textbox, then the users will be able to navigate somewhere!
My suggestion to you is to build your own browser, search google.com for that there is an example I know... Then while creating your browser simply don't put a URL textbox, this way your users wont be able to navigate besides using the navigation system you have in your intranet(if you have one of course) Also, you'll need to instal/give to everyone in the company your .exe so that they can double-click on it so that it will open/fire the browser you've created. Each computer on the network will have to have that .exe in order to get into your intranet... Unless they use Internet Explorer but then the URL textbox is there and they can navigate anywhere... Hope that makes sense! Sincerely Vlince |
