How to hide hyperlinks?
Hi
Can anyone provide the code to hide hyperlinks (change to background colour?) if the files they link to do not exist? Thanks Chris |

Why even put them on the page if you don't want someone to click on them? If you change the color so they blend in with the background I can still click them and my cursor will still change to a hand so I know that a link is there.

Reason for hiding hyperlinks
The reason is because I want to create an auto-running CD wth an index that is dependent on the files that it contains - the simplest way (I thought) was to create one index file, then hide the bits that were'nt relevant (i.e. depending on the files) - rather than creating several index files (because I would need to update them frequently - dont want to keep copying across the different indexes). I can live with the cursor changing if it is over an 'invisble' link. Any further suggestions appreciated.

I dont think so that you can do so, you can only do that store the links in a small database and run a query to display the links which are having corresponding files in the directory.
