i am using cdonts to send email , i want to know whether the the receiver read the email or not .

Doesn't the read receipt thing just send an email back? So you'd need some sort of automation on your incoming mail server - you can hook Exchange up to SQL Server with SQLMail if that's any help, but its not an easy job.
