message board creation and registrtion forms.
Hi all
I am very new to the coding side of webdesign. I am doing a website and I wish to do the following:

Make a page where users can enter there own username and password in order to access the memebers section, and alert them if the username has already been taken.

Also need a message board like the one we're using here only i have no idea where to start I have spent 5 days online trying to find help and tutorials etc, but I must confess I'm struggling now with code overload!!!
Please can anyone out there help me.

For your message board forum... if it has to be ASP... I would suggest Snitz Forum. It's free and works well.

For your login, what you need to do depends upon what you want to use it for.

Type "Snitz Forum" into the search term box on google... and you'll get all the info you'll need.
