Is ASPMail good for Mass Email?

Hello,

I am trying to send out a mass email newsletter. I have 600+ subscribers in our SQL Server Database. Well, is ASPMail (Server Object's product) good for this? If so I have some concerns about the error handling and assuring people don't continue to recieve the same email.

Does anyone have expierence with this? If so, what is your advice?

Does anyone have example code?

Or, if anyone recommends something other than ASPMail that would be apprecaited.

I'd look into the documentation/FAQ of the product to see if the component can handle all of that.

I know that certain products out there exist and all they do is send mass email, perhaps you might want to look into that...

It runs on your server and probably connects to your database in order to send the emails check it out!

Its probably cheaper to buy such a software then to code one

Anyway its up to you!

So, from your response I am assuming I need to take an alternate route? Do you have any suggestions??

Well...you can *try* with the component if you want but 600 emails..humm that's a lot and will you send them at night time? or during working hours?

Is your hosting company hosting other web sites? and are these web sites also sending emails?

There are a lot of thing to take into account if you want your application to perform well that's why I suggested a software that does just that!

But then again, is the hosting company will allow that?

The best thing to do is try with the component, see the results, see if it hangs the server or slows down the server then take proper action since you'll have proof
