Visitors country of residence
Hi,

Does anybody know how I can check what country the user is visiting from?
I know how to check the browser type etc. but not where the person visiting my site is actually resident.
I'd like to know how to check this both in ASP and Javascript if possible.

Search for commercial products that identify visitors. It's not really up to the language, identifying your visitors is something you do by processing the visitors IP.

And as far as I know, there are no foolproof ways to locate the user.

Could you please recommend any products maybe?

Also, if there is a commercial product that does this, surely they must get the information from somewhere. People who manage IP numbers should provide this kind of information, shouldn't they?
Isn't there an official database of IP addresses?

If it is for a shopping cart then there are uaually mods or add ons available that can do that.

There are services that you can get from third parties like www dot ipligence dot com/en/products/community.php as listed on wikipedia.
