The complete documentation comes with VB6. If you can find anyone with the MSDN library CD's dated October 2001 or earlier they also contain the complete VB6 documentation.
VB.Net documentation is available online at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library |

if you are looking for books for learning the language, wrox books and black books are my favorite. I use ebay and half.ebay to purchase them for like 10 bucks so it's hard to beat that as opposed to the 60 bucks at a bookstore. If it's not in the books i tend to google for it, but rarely does that happen. If it's a syntax qustion like i forget the syntax for a do while loop or if i can't remember if vb supports this method, as doug sugguested get the documentation, you can actually download it and just use it on your desktop which is pretty useful. Hope this helps.
