I've got several of the Wrox press books, but the first book I learned from ASP Unleashed I think is one of the best ... it's clearly laid out and even though it's not as advanced as some of the Wrox ones, I still end up going back to it all the time.

I whole heartedly recommend "Asp in a nutshell, A desktop quick reference" by A Keyton Weissinger

I started with WROX but for someone completly new to ASP would probably like a Deitel book where everything is completly layout.

If you are looking for more ASP with database, check out Wrox's "ASP Databases". Great book from setting up ODBC to ASP interaction. Also a must is "ASP in a Nutshell".
A great quick reference for all sorts of web "languages" (javascript, html, asp, vbscript, css2, etc) check out the gurus. Great site. |

sadly i ended up starting with ASP in 21 days (wasn't my book), it's certainly not gonna teach you everything -- plus i already had a background in vb -- but it was a good starter and was written by the guys that run 4guysfromrolla.com (great asp help site). other than that you can probably get plenty of help from places like this forum, 4guysfromrolla.com, www.w3schools.com and www.sloppycode.net
