a slight problem

I have got webserver (omnihttpd), a DNS url and an IP client which updates my IP address. I need the IP client to feed my constantly changing dynamic IP address to my DNS url, so it can be accessed by the web. Everything is working OK, except I'm getting pretty pissed off by the fact that when I disconnect from the internet, the web can no longer access my site. This is unbelievably annoying. How can I make it available all the time and not just when I'm connected to the internet? I'm not leaving my computer on all the time!

Do you mean that you are disconnecting your PC acting as your web server from the internet? If so, you're out of luck...that's the way the internet works, and you will have to find someone to be your web host or have a machine running full-time. If not, can you describe the setup of your machines a bit better. Is it all on one machine, or spread out among several?

Please read the following thread on how to post a question. Your thread subject isn't acceptable for this community. I looked over some of your previous posts and a good portion of them have similar, non-descriptive, subjects.

That's the way a server works. For the server to "serve" pages, users have to be able to connect to it, and the only way that's possible is to have your computer on and your web server running. What's wrong with leaving the computer on?

The only way around this is to pay for hosting with another company, at which point you'll put your web site on their servers and user can connect to them instead of you.
