Hi there,
I'm new to scripting. I would like to learn how to start writing scripts in the (bash) shell, but have no idea where to begin. I'm busy reading the 'man page' for bash at URL so I hope that will help me understand how the shell works. Is there beginners examples out there on the net that I don't know about? I don't just want to 'copy and paste' scripts, I would like to understand how they work. I would appreciate any help. Thanks ![]() |

Try search engines for online manuals.
I was in a similar spot with PERL and found a nifty manual online. It was a small file that was read by Adobe Acrobat, but that's neither here nor there. Lost |
