basic photoshop question
i make a rectangle with the marquee.
i press the short cut alt + backspace to fill it in with the forecolor. result, sharp, colored in rectangle success. i make a rectangle with the marquee. i go to select->modify->border and enter the value 10. (feathering is off) i press short cut alt + backspace to fill it in with the forecolor. result, fuzzy ugly colored in border. failure. i suspect some anti-alias setting is messed up or something? what gives? i wanted the area withing the border to have a solid color, instead color goes beyond the selected border and the color isnt uniform. thanksNadvance |

Not sure what's happening. You can fix it, though.
Make you selection, do the border. Don't fill it. Create a new channel. Fill the selection with white. Got Image>Adjust>Levels. Move the top white triangle (on the right) almost all the way to the left. Hit OK. Go back to layers and pick the layer you were working on. Go to Select>Load Selection and pick the channel you just created. Hit Ok. Fill with color of choice. |
