Blotchy graphics

Solution to blotchy graphics in AP 6.0? Screen graphics are OK. Printed graphics have problem.

Blotchy printed graphics

If they are showing up good on screen yet when you print them they are blotchy this could be cause of your printer. Is it an ink jet printer? a laser printer? your printer can determine how your graphics will turn out on paper.

What DPI is the image? Making images for screen and for print are two totally different media. It may look good on screen but can come out totally different on print. The DPI should be around 300, if its lower then you will have issues. Normally when making images for screen usage you have the DPI at about 72.

One thing you also need to take note of is that colours on the screen may not always be what you get on paper. If your screen is not calabirated correctly what appears to be dark purple on the screen may come out bright pink.

Blotchy Graphics

hopstream, Orange 21, a.koepke:

Thanks for your input. I have sharpened the image (unsharp mask), experimented with the dpi and ppi, and tried two laser printers - - Brother 1440 & HP 4+. I continue to have the problem. Also, I have uninstalled and installed PS 6.0 three times. However, I did discover that the PS file printed well after placed into a Pagemaker file. Any more input would be helpful. Thanks again.
