can you mimic this effect? photshop
Hi there,
I'm trying to mimic the effect of the "rays of light" behind the logo on the packaging of the box in the following image:




Any idea how to pull this off? I tried making a large brush that fades in steps (im using photoshop 6), but im not pulling off the effect that great unless im doing it wrong? any suggestions?

GNU Image Manipulation Programme
I don't know if you have access to a Linux box, but this stuff is very simple to do using the GIMP.

Just a thought

This link has a good ray of light tutorial. Not exactly what you need, but if you play with the filters you should be able to get what you need.
