CDRW. no read?
is it me or is the cdrw.
first it wouldn't install let me install windows. i had to put a cd-rom in to do that. it let me install most of my old games. and lets me isntall some software. but today i tried installing a new game. and it installed it but i couldn't start the game. i had to put the old cd-rom in and reinstall for it to work. so what i'm wondering is it the cdrw that's f*cked up or is it me? and it's normal to have cd-rom for reading and cdrw for writing.

you mean you have a normal cd drive and a cdrw drive, and you can't install correctly from the cdrw sometimes?

sounds like you have a flakey cdrw. have you checked around to see if there have been any problems reported with this brand/model?

Its probably a bad drive, but I've know people who have had similar problems w/ installing from a cdrw drive, never figured out why. Returning it is a good idea.
