Question Delete xp & install win2k

I have a P4 1.5G pc with 40G hdd currently with xp installed.
I want to delete xp & install win2k pro & try & learn for my first mcp.
Currently hdd only has 1 partition on ntfs, I need to sep up a 2G partition in FAT.

How do you boot to dos from xp, I've looked in bios & nothing there.

Step by step please as I'm new to this, ie, how do you run format & fdisk etc.

If you want to wipe your whole hard drive, the easiest way will be to boot from your Win2k CD & install from scratch, creating new partitions, etc.

You can't boot to DOS with WinXP & Win2K, but you can bring up a Command prompt by clicking START/RUN & type in CMD, but you won't be able to format drive C: from there.

Hope this is a little helpful.

Before you do anything, make sure your Win2K installation CD can boot from your CD-ROM. Stick it in the CD-ROM and try it out!

Then I'd re-partition it just like carlossus said.

Let me know if you need really specific info.

Thanks Nao, I didn't think of that. I just take it for granted on my system ;-)
